CLINICAL CASE: this patient had to use her glasses for sewing. One day looking down she dropped her glasses and they were broken. She went to an ophtalmologist for a new lens graduation. The doctor saw something unusual on her eye, around the iris and a final diagnosis of ciliary body melanoma was made. She has been treated with conservative surgery.

COMMENTS: This situation could be seen as chance but we believe that professionalism is on the base. The doctor followed a methodical eye examination and he paid attention to the finding reaching to a diagnosis.
